Giancarlo Barzotti

Founder of Evolve Soccer Academy, grew up in Southern California playing and developing the love for the game.  Giancarlo’s passion has always been soccer and now has the opportunity to pass along his knowledge and experiences to our youth soccer community.  He attended Mater Dei High School where he lettered all four years and captained his team to a CIF Championship.  During his high school years he played club soccer for the Pateadores.  Giancarlo captained this powerhouse team for multiple years and won many championships.  During that same period of time Giancarlo was active in the Olympic Development Program and was also selected to attend the Adidas ESP (Elite Soccer Program).  After graduating from High School Giancarlo earned a full ride scholarship and started all 4 years at  the University of Tulsa.  After a successful college career and earning his International Business degree Giancarlo turned to coaching, primarily focusing on private and small group training.  With over 20 years of coaching experience Giancarlo is excited to share his passion through the Evolve Soccer Academy.  Giancarlo now resides in Rossmoor, Ca and is married with two beautiful young children.     

Omar Santana

Head Coach of Evolve Soccer Academy, born and raised in Mexico City, Omar started playing soccer at 4 years old with Pumas Academy (Pumitas) in his hometown. Pumas UNAM club is where his father played professionally during the 70’s and 80’s so his love for the game is deeply rooted from a very young age. After aging out from the program, Omar played for his school teams. Instituto Mexico is a well-recognized private school with the best soccer program in the country. With his school team he won two national championships back to back during 5th and 6th grade. During his intermediate school years, he played for top quality teams. In 7th grade his team was undefeated and was pulled to play a year up. Facing rivals such as Pumas UNAM, America CF, Atlante and Cruz Azul during pre-season. Omar moved to California at 16 years old where he played two years in Varsity for Garden Grove High School and then played for Cypress College and Riverside College from 2002-2005. After College Omar played for the CSL Premier Division with clubs such as Seahorses, Garden Grove Gunners, Genesis FC and Pateadores. In 2011 Omar was selected to play professional arena soccer with the Anaheim Bolts. As a coach, Omar started his career in 2008 with Pumas Academy in the Inland Empire at a club level. Besides Pumas Academy, Omar has coached club teams from Arsenal FC, Legends FC and currently manages teams at FC Premier. One of Omar’s passions is player development and promotion to the professional level. Under Omar’s and his father’s program four Mexican-American players have been developed, promoted and currently signed with professional contracts in Mexico. Bernabe Magana plays for Pumas UNAM 1st Division, Josue Soto plays for Cimarrones de Sonora 1st A Liga de Ascenso Division, Sergio Benrostro plays for Gallos de Queretaro 2nd Division and Vincent Aguayo plays for Atlas de Guadalajara U15. Omar currently resides in the city of Fullerton, CA.

Carly Marietti

Coach of Evolve Soccer Academy, was born and raised in Long Beach.  Carly grew up playing youth soccer at every level and eventually making her way to the well recognized Legends Club.   After High School  Marietti spent two seasons playing at the University of the Pacific after a successful prep career at Long Beach Millikan High School. Marietti appeared in 18 games for the Tigers as a sophomore, while she played in 12 games her freshman season. While at Long Beach Millikan, Marietti was a four-time 1st Team All-More League pick, and earned her team’s Offensive Player of the Year honors as a sophomore and Rookie of the Year her freshman season.  Carly is still working on completing her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Marietti, has won a state championship while assistant coaching Cerritos college during the 2015-2016 season. She also serves as the girl’s soccer junior varsity head coach at Los Alamitos High, as well assistant coaching with Beach FC. Marietti continues to reside in Long Beach.
